Overview

Green vast land and thousands of camels, mirage which looks like a big ocean this combination is Gobi. One of the most touristic attractions in Mongolia is this mysterious Gobi desert. The Gobi is a cold desert, with frost and occasionally snow occurring on its dunes. Besides being quite far north, it is also located on a plateau roughly 910–1,520 meters (2,990–4,990 ft) above sea level, which contributes to its low temperatures. An average of approximately 194 millimeters (7.6 in) of rain falls annually in the Gobi. Additional moisture reaches parts of the Gobi in winter as snow is blown by the wind from the Siberia. These winds cause the Gobi to reached −40 °C or −40 °F in winter to 45 °C or 113 °F in summer. You will cover Terelj National Park and Gobi within 8 days. It will be a very memorable tour in your life.

Its nickname of “Flaming Cliffs” is due to the orange-red rock the mountain is made of.
